Coats for Kids

Warmth that helped children get to school.

The need

The original plan was to provide winter clothing and footwear for 150 students at Ratna Pragatishil and Mahakulung Basic Schools. When 35 preschool children were found to be missing from the school’s list, NEEF and its supporters expanded the project.

What the record tells us

The October 2020 update reports 185 coats, shoes and socks. Clothing was made in Kathmandu, and Dilip Singh Kulung helped arrange distribution during Dashain.

Why it matters

When a child has the clothing and materials needed for school, a practical obstacle to learning becomes smaller. These projects are made possible by donors and the local people who put that support into action.
